Jet_steals_showHarassment, also known as hazing or herding, is the most effective humane goose control method that can be employed. Hazing is recognized by government agencies and animal rights groups as a humane and effective method of goose control. Federal or State permits are not required to perform this work as no chemicals, traps, or other harmful techniques are used to dissuade the geese from taking up residence on your property.

Canada geese seek areas where they can go about their daily activities with minimum disturbance. If someone or something bothers them enough, they usually will find another area where they will not be disturbed.

Geese lose their fear of simple scare devices quickly. You may get some short-term relief but for the most part, these scare devices, when used alone, have little lasting effect. However, scare devices can be effective as an additional tool when used with our goose dogs.geesepeace

humane society logoUsing dogs to harass geese from an area has become one of the most popular and successful methods. The Humane Society of the United States, Coalition for the Prevention of the Destruction of Canada Geese and GeesePeace.org all endorse the use of trained border collies for harrasment of geese. According to The Humane Society of the United States, "The most effective way to scare geese away is with trained goose-herding dogs. Herding dogs convince geese they are not safe from predators." Ongoing canine harassment instills fear in geese and convinces them to find safer places to feed and nest.  The results are immediate and long lasting.
